WHO WE ARE
THE JERSEY WOMEN STRONG STORY
Founded in 2012, Jersey Women Strong is northern NJ’s largest all-women’s running and multi-sport team. Membership includes women of all ages and abilities, including those who have never run or exercised.
Many team members compete in local races throughout the year, while some simply join to reap the benefits of exercising with other like-minded individuals. You'll find weekly workouts for everyone, including "Tuesday Track," and Saturday/Sunday group runs at the Ridgewood Duck Pond, along with many informal meet-ups. Additionally, membership includes invitations to monthly social events, nutrition and fitness education, seminars, unlimited motivational support, an active and private Facebook group and perks from our sponsors. Training groups include everything from beginner runner (walk-to-run) to triathlon.
Charitable outreach is an important tenet of our program. We have worked closely with and raised thousands of dollars for local organizations such as Oasis: A Haven for Women and Children (Paterson), Tomorrow's Children's Fund (Hackensack), Women's Rights Information Center (Englewood), Center for Hope and Safety (Hackensack), ProjectKIND, Center for Safety and Change (Rockland), as well as other local groups and families.
